Generated image upscaling

AI art upscaler for generated images

Turn promising generated images into larger assets that are easier to present, crop, print, or deliver.

Upscale AI artBuy art credits

Larger final assets

Prepare generated images for client proofs, landing pages, poster tests, and portfolio layouts.

Better crop flexibility

Upscale before cropping so thumbnails, banners, and square exports keep more detail.

Works after generation

Use Plain Upscaler after Midjourney, Imagen, Flux, Seedream, or other image generators.

Best for

Use this page when the generated concept is strong but the file is too small for delivery.

  • Designers preparing AI concepts for client review
  • Creators building thumbnails, posters, and social assets
  • Agencies delivering generated image batches

AI artwork decision guide

Increase delivery resolution without flattening the intended style

AI artwork may combine deliberate painterly softness with accidental low-resolution defects. Upscaling can strengthen a print or crop, but it can also replace brushwork, alter character identity, regularize unusual design, or add a generic layer of micro-detail. Decide which marks are intentional, which defects need attention, and what the final medium actually reveals before choosing a scale.

Preserve the strongest generation and its creative context

Use the original generation or highest-quality saved output rather than a screenshot. Preserve prompt, seed, model, version, edit history, masks, color decisions, and any licensed references when they are part of the production record. If a source has already passed through multiple image generators, face restorers, sharpeners, or social platforms, identify those steps because another enhancement may compound repeated eyes, false text, edge halos, and overspecified skin or fabric.

Mark the intentional characteristics before review: soft paint transitions, rough ink, grain, impasto, flat graphic fields, asymmetric anatomy, abstract symbols, limited palettes, or negative space. The upscaler does not know which irregularities are authored. Choose a representative crop containing the primary subject, smallest important feature, hardest texture, gradient, text-like mark, and boundary between foreground and background.

Review style continuity, character identity, and false symbols

Compare composition, silhouette, face and hand structure, costume, props, repeated motifs, palette, brush direction, grain, and edge softness. Reject new jewelry, altered eyes, different fingers, readable-looking nonsense, signature-like marks, duplicated objects, texture pasted across flat areas, or sharpening that changes the visual hierarchy. An output can look technically detailed while feeling like a different artist or character.

For a series, test all recurring characters and style families; one approved image does not guarantee consistency. Keep a reference sheet and use human review for logos, lettering, maps, diagrams, symbols, culturally sensitive elements, and any claim presented as factual. Replace typography from an authoritative design file. Upscaling cannot verify provenance, remove training-data concerns, or make a generated image safe for every commercial use.

Scale for the real print, crop, animation, or marketplace asset

Calculate the pixels needed from physical print size and intended density, or from the actual display and crop requirement. Test the final color profile, sharpening, paper, bleed, compression, and viewing distance. A poster may expose texture repetition, while a card or web thumbnail may need only a modest factor. Choose the lowest output that preserves the style and passes production; extra pixels are not free when they add review and retry work.

Record the source generation, rights basis, scale, estimate, result dimensions, reviewer, and accepted usage. Keep the source and layered design files outside the service. Confirm licenses and disclosure requirements for models, references, clients, marketplaces, contests, and jurisdictions relevant to the project. Uploaded files use managed storage and an external provider, and an upscale does not transfer ownership or guarantee copyright eligibility.

AI artwork approval checklist

  • The strongest source, generation context, edit history, references, and intentional style traits are preserved.
  • Composition, character identity, hands, motifs, palette, brushwork, grain, edges, text-like marks, and symbols are reviewed.
  • The chosen scale is derived from the real print, crop, display, or marketplace requirement and tested in that pipeline.
  • Rights, licenses, disclosures, source files, task ID, reviewer, dimensions, and accepted use are documented.

What to decide before spending credits

Start by asking whether resolution is the real constraint. Upscaling increases pixel dimensions and may improve perceived edge or texture detail, but it does not make an inaccurate source truthful. A tiny crop, severe blur, blown highlights, blocked shadows, or unreadable lettering may remain unusable at a larger size. For products, portraits, artwork, and archival photos, compare the output with the original subject instead of judging sharpness alone.

Plain Upscaler is currently a manual, single-image workflow. Upload a supported file, select the available scale and model settings, review the on-screen credit estimate, and submit one job. The server decodes and verifies the actual image dimensions before accepting the charge, so renaming a file or changing browser data cannot lower the authoritative cost. There is no public customer API, digital-asset-manager integration, or unattended catalog batch in this workflow.

Use a representative test image before processing a collection. Pick one file with the same camera source, compression, subject matter, and defects as the rest of the set. Inspect faces, hands, lettering, logos, straight lines, repeating patterns, and high-contrast edges at 100 percent. AI enhancement can invent plausible-looking detail; that may be acceptable for decorative art and unacceptable for identity, evidence, restoration, product claims, or faithful reproduction.

The pricing page is the source of truth for currently enabled subscriptions and one-time credit packs. Limited starter credit may be enough for a small test, while regular production requires paid credit. Keep your original locally, record the task identifier if something fails, and download an acceptable result promptly. Uploaded media passes through managed storage and a third-party AI processing provider, so only submit content you are authorized to process and avoid unnecessary personal or confidential data.

Practical boundaries

  • A larger output is not proof of higher factual accuracy or authentic detail.
  • Every file is submitted separately; credit packs do not turn the tool into automatic batch processing.
  • Visual quality varies by source and settings, and no particular commercial outcome is guaranteed.
  • Review the live estimate before each submission because server-verified dimensions determine the final charge.

AI art upscaling workflow

Generate in your preferred tool, then upscale the selected winners.

  1. 01

    Upload the original asset

Start from the highest-quality file you still have. JPG, PNG, WEBP, and common video formats are supported by the matching tool.

  2. 02

    Choose the right enhancement mode

Use image upscaling for stills and video upscaling for motion. Credit packs fund several jobs, but each file is submitted and reviewed individually.

  3. 03

    Review and export

Check edges, faces, textures, text, and compression artifacts before downloading. The output still needs human approval for its intended use.

Before delivery, check

Generated images can contain hidden flaws that become visible after upscaling.

  • Hands, text, logos, and faces are acceptable at the final size
  • Texture detail supports the intended style
  • License and usage rights are clear for the source generator

Turn selected generations into deliverables

Upscale one final concept first, then use credits for campaign batches or client decks.
